چکیده

Various graph-theoretic definitions of neighborhood have been used in the past in computer vision and clustering applications. In this paper we study the properties of a set of four related closest-point graphs using Monte Carlo methods: (i) the Delaunay Triangulation (DT) and its dual, Voronoi tessellation, (ii) the Gabriel Graph (GG), (iii) the Relative Neighborhood Graph (RNG), and (iv) the Minimum Spanning Tree (MST). We examine the suitability of these graphs in the detection of structure in noisy images using the Hough transform. We also explore each graph’s structural stability under random positional noise. Delaunay triangulation is shown to be the least sensitive to such noisy conditions.

Robot Motion Vision Pait I: Theory

A direct method called fixation is introduced for solving the general motion vision problem, arbitrary motion relative to an arbitrary environment. This method results in a linear constraint equation which explicitly expresses the rotational velocity in terms of the translational velocity. The combination of this constraint equation with the Brightness-Change Constraint Equation solves the gene...

Human Computer Interaction Using Vision-Based Hand Gesture Recognition

With the rapid emergence of 3D applications and virtual environments in computer systems; the need for a new type of interaction device arises. This is because the traditional devices such as mouse, keyboard, and joystick become inefficient and cumbersome within these virtual environments. In other words, evolution of user interfaces shapes the change in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). In...

COSPECTRALITY MEASURES OF GRAPHS WITH AT MOST SIX VERTICES

Cospectrality of two graphs measures the differences between the ordered spectrum of these graphs in various ways. Actually, the origin of this concept came back to Richard Brualdi's problems that are proposed in cite{braldi}: Let $G_n$ and $G'_n$ be two nonisomorphic simple graphs on $n$ vertices with spectra$$lambda_1 geq lambda_2 geq cdots geq lambda_n ;;;text{and};;; lambda'_1 geq lambda'_2...

Short paper: Iterative Estimation of Rigid Body Transformations Application to robust object tracking and Iterative Closest Point

Closed-form solutions are traditionally used in computer vision for estimating rigid body transformations. Here we suggest an iterative solution for estimating rigid body transformations and prove its convergence. We show that for a number of applications involving repeated estimations of rigid body transformations, an iterative scheme is preferable to a closed-form solution. We illustrate this...
